Irvin to Host Pvt. Clyde C. McVitty Memorial Bridge Dedication Ceremony in Orrstown

WHAT: A ceremony dedicating the bridge carrying State Route 997 over Conodoguinet Creek in Letterkenny Township as the Pvt. Clyde C. McVitty Memorial Bridge. McVitty served with the 504th Parachute Infantry Regiment, 82nd “All-American” Airbourne Division. He was tragically killed in action during the Anzio Beach landing on Feb. 9, 1944. Rep. Rich Irvin (R-Franklin/Huntingdon) authored the bill naming the bridge, which was passed as part of Act 63 of 2024.

HARRISBURG – Once a luxury, broadband has become a necessity, yet too many Pennsylvanians are either unserved or underserved, especially in rural areas. To address the lack of broadband in rural Pennsylvania, Rep. Rich Irvin (R-Huntingdon/Franklin) and the House Republican Policy Committee, led by Chairman Joshua D. Kail (R-Beaver/Washington), convened in Huntingdon earlier this week for a hearing on, “Advancing Our Rural Connectivity.”

HARRISBURG – A portion of State Route 994 over the Blacklog Creek in Cromwell Township, Huntingdon County, has been named the Lieutenant Joseph O. Stevens Memorial Bridge, announced Rep. Rich Irvin (R-Huntingdon/Centre/Mifflin), author of the bill creating the designation.
