Irvin Announces Grant Funding for Projects Across the 81st District
September 15, 2026
HARRISBURG – State Rep. Rich Irvin (R-Franklin/Huntingdon) today announced that he has helped secure $876,539 in Local Share Account (LSA) grants for municipalities in the 81st District.
“This funding is critical to help these municipalities purchase needed equipment and make important infrastructure improvements,” said Irvin. “Ultimately, these grants help improve the quality of life in these communities and better ensure public safety. I was happy to advocate for this funding and bring this money back to our district.”
The following municipalities are set to receive funding:
• Alexandria Borough Water Authority - $81,970 for the purchase of a pick-up truck used for water meter readings, hauling and transporting large equipment, and snow removal.
• Letterkenny Township - $362,199, on behalf of Pleasant Hall Volunteer Fire Company, to make renovations to the fire company building and grounds.
• Marklesburg Authority - $303,500 for the replacement of a UV system at a wastewater treatment plant.
• Shirley Township General Authority - $73,326 for the replacement of two sewage lift station pumps.
• Southampton Township -$55,544, on behalf of the West End Fire and Rescue, for fire rescue equipment.
The grants were approved and awarded by the Commonwealth Financing Authority, which was established as an independent agency that holds fiduciary responsibility over the funding of programs and investments in Pennsylvania’s economic growth. LSA grants are derived from gaming revenues.
