Popular Seniors for Safe Driving Program Set for May 12, Says Irvin

HARRISBURG – Due to the high popularity of the Seniors for Safe Driving program, Rep. Rich Irvin (R-Huntingdon/Mifflin/Centre) is hosting another class on Thursday, May 12, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. at the Fairfield Inn and Suites, 9970 Shaner Blvd. in Huntingdon. 

“The class we held in April was full to capacity, so we are offering another opportunity for those older adults who want to improve their driving while also earning a discount on their automobile insurance,” said Irvin.

The Seniors for Safe Driving program is beneficial for older drivers looking to improve their driving skills through gaining a better knowledge of how to adjust their driving techniques and habits to compensate for many of the challenges facing older motorists.

The program is open to drivers age 55 and older. There is no on-the-road driving required and no exam will be given. At the completion of the class, motorists will be eligible to receive a minimum 5% discount on their auto insurance premiums.
